REN Shaobo meets with Hungarian National Assembly’s deputy speaker

On the afternoon of September 24, REN Shaobo, Chairman of the Zhejiang University Council, welcomed a delegation led by Oláh Lajos, Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly and Vice Chairman of the Hungary-China Friendship Group of Parliamentarians.

REN Shaobo introduced Zhejiang University’s latest development in areas such as academic excellence, cutting-edge research, global partnerships, and international education. Reflecting on the longstanding cooperation between Zhejiang University and Hungary, he emphasized the university’s willingness to deepen its collaborations with Hungarian universities, research institutions, and enterprises. Ren stressed the importance of building on the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in the new era, hoping to promote practical cooperation in key areas such as talent training, cultural preservation, technological innovation, and green development.

Oláh Lajos commended Zhejiang University for its remarkable achievements and shared his enthusiasm for future collaborations. He highlighted the pivotal role of educational cooperation and cultural exchange in cementing the enduring friendship between China and Hungary. Oláh Lajos expressed his strong support for expanding collaboration between Hungarian institutions and Zhejiang University. He also encouraged both sides to explore cooperation paths in fields such as renewable energy transition, cultural heritage protection, and people-to-people exchanges, so as to translate the shared vision of both nations' leaders into concrete actions, laying the foundation for even closer cooperation.
