ZJU students set world record to win women’s 10-meter air rifle team gold

China claimed the women’s 10m air rifle team title with a new world record at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on October 20.

Among the champions were two Zhejiang University undergraduate students from the College of Education, WANG Zifei and HAN Jiayu, who joined forces with teammate DU Yuchen for a stunning performance in the team final. With steady focus and seamless coordination, the trio scored 1,904.2 points to capture the gold medal, surpassing the previous world record of 1,902.0 points.

The victory marked China’s second consecutive Asian Games gold medal in the event and gave the Chinese shooting team a strong start at the Asian Games.

Behind the record-breaking performance was a combination of individual dedication and collective strength. Throughout the competition, the three athletes remained composed and fully focused on each shot.
