Speaker of Zambia’s National Assembly visits Zhejiang University

On October 26, Nelly Mutti, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, led a delegation to Zhejiang University. ZHOU Jianghong, Vice President of Zhejiang University, met with the guests on behalf of the University, setting the stage for productive talks on areas of mutual interest.

ZHOU Jianghong noted that this year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Zambia, highlighting the vast potential for cooperation between the two countries, especially in new energy, water resource development, and electricity. Looking ahead, he underscored Zhejiang University’s commitment to leveraging its strengths as a comprehensive, research-oriented, and innovative institution to strengthen China-Zambia cooperation in infrastructure sectors like water conservancy and electricity, and to promote sustainable development.

She outlined Zambia’s key needs in areas such as clean energy, food security, and artificial intelligence skills training. She looked forward to expanding cooperation between Zambian institutions and Zhejiang University and learning from the University’s expertise. 

During the discussions, Nelly Mutti received updates on the latest developments from the Zhejiang University College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, gaining insights into research advancements and educational outcomes in water conservancy and architecture, among others.
