Abstract: Professor Alan S. Goldman is a Distinguished Professor at Rutger University's Department of Chemistry. He earned his B.A. from Columbia College in 1980 (advised by Prof. Walter G. Klemperer) and his Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1985 (advised by Prof. David R. Tyler), with a thesis on Mechanistic studies of photoinduced organometallic reactions.After joining Rutgers in 1987, he advanced through the faculty ranks to become a Distinguished Professor in 2005. His research focuses on organometallic chemistry and catalytic science, with publications in top journals like Science, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Acc.Chem.Res., and ACS Catal. He has received notable honors, including the 2023 Honorary Professorship at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati; the 2021 election as a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS); and the 2019 American Chemical Society Award in Organometallic Chemistry.
