Vice President ZHOU Jianghong meets with Singapore Minister of State

On April 21, a delegation led by Alvin Tan, Singapore’s Minister of State for Trade & Industry and National Development, visited Zhejiang University. Vice President ZHOU Jianghong met with the delegation.

ZHOU Jianghong extended a warm welcome to the guests and introduced Zhejiang University’s overall development, including its academic programs, disciplinary strengths, and distinctive achievements in innovation and entrepreneurship. He also reviewed Zhejiang University’s existing collaborations with Singaporean universities and research institutions. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to further deepen cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence and biomedicine, expand two-way faculty and student exchanges, jointly build platforms for cultivating innovative talent, and promote the cross-border transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Alvin Tan spoke highly of Zhejiang University’s educational achievements and its dynamic innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, and expressed strong confidence in the prospects for future collaboration. He noted that efforts would be made to actively promote deeper cooperation between Singaporean government agencies, research institutions, and Zhejiang University, particularly in fields such as innovation and entrepreneurship, fintech, and artificial intelligence, thereby facilitating youth exchanges and technological innovation between China and Singapore.

During the meeting, Professor WU Xiaobo, Director of the National Institute for Innovation Management; LEI Hai, Deputy Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship; and XU Kaijin, Deputy Director of the China–Singapore Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Infection Research and Drug Development, delivered presentations and discussed directions for future cooperation.

Representatives from Zhejiang Investment Promotion Center and Zhejiang University’s Office of Global Engagement also attended the meeting.
