On May 14, a delegation led by Evânio Araújo, Vice Minister of Education of Brazil, visited Zhejiang University. GU Zhen, Associate Vice President of Zhejiang University, met with the delegation.

GU Zhen extended a warm welcome to Araújo and his delegation, and briefed them on Zhejiang University’s recent developments. He also reviewed Zhejiang University’s cooperation with Brazilian universities in areas such as student exchanges, the humanities, and the arts. He said Zhejiang University looks forward to deepening educational and research collaboration with Brazilian universities in areas such as public administration and agricultural economics, expanding academic exchanges, and welcoming more Brazilian students to join Zhejiang University’s flagship programs, including China Studies courses and summer schools, in a shared effort to foster innovative talent and promote global sustainable development.
Araújo thanked Zhejiang University for its warm hospitality and commended its forward-looking ideas and practical experience in leveraging AI to support teaching and learning. He noted that Zhejiang University’s practices could offer valuable insights for higher education in Brazil, and expressed the hope of expanding the number of Brazilian students studying at Zhejiang University and strengthening substantive cooperation in education, science, and technology.
At the meeting, representatives from the Undergraduate School and the Aoyama International Business School (currently in preparation), shared updates on cooperation with Brazilian partners and offered suggestions for future collaboration.


During the visit, Araújo and his delegation also held discussions with representatives from the Undergraduate School and the Information Technology Center to learn more about Zhejiang University’s practices in digital governance, education quality assessment, and smart campus development. The delegation also visited the Future Learning Center at Zhejiang University.
