Abstract: Dr. Xinyue Ye is currently the Shelby Distinguished Professor at the University of Alabama. He is the first elected Fellow of the American Association of Geographers from the Early Career category. In 2025, he received the AAG Distinguished Scholarly Achievement Award for his groundbreaking contributions at the intersection of geography, urban planning, and data science (the award is given to only one to two scholars annually), setting the record for the fastest election after receiving his PhD. In the same year, he was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to geographic artificial intelligence and urban informatics. He was the only Chinese scholar among the 15 Fellows elected from the Geology Section in that year. Since 2020, he has been consecutively listed in Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists in both career-long cumulative impact and yearly academic impact.
