University of Edinburgh Vice Principal David Argyle visits Zhejiang University

Recently, David Argyle, Vice Principal of the University of Edinburgh and Head of the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, led a delegation to Zhejiang University. The visit, which coincided with the 10th anniversary of the Zhejiang University–University of Edinburgh Institute, featured a series of meetings and exchanges aimed at deepening the two universities’ longstanding strategic partnership.

President MA Yanming met with David Argyle and his delegation on Zijingang Campus. Reflecting on the achievements of the university-wide partnership established in 2011, the two sides spoke highly of the accomplishments of the joint institute over the past decade. Looking ahead, they reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in talent cultivation, expanding collaboration in research and innovation, and taking the partnership to new heights.

Vice President LI Xiaoming, Associate Vice President GU Zhen, SHEN Youqing, Ehab Abouheif, together with representatives from the Office of Global Engagement, the Haining International Campus, and other relevant units, participated in related activities.

During the visit, the delegation met with faculty members from the School of Medicine and the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences to explore future collaboration. They also toured the Future Learning Center and the Museum of Art and Archaeology. David Argyle attended the graduation gala for the Class of 2026 at the Zhejiang University–University of Edinburgh Institute.
