Dong Shilin Donates 1 Million Yuan to Zhejiang University Education Foundation

On January 9, Prof. Dong Shilin, former Dean of the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Zhejiang University, together with his wife Ms. Zhou Dingzhong, donated 1 million yuan to Zhejiang University Education Foundation to set up the Dong Shilin-Zhou Dingzhong Special Foundation for Science and Technology of Spatial Structures. In 2011, Prof. Dong also donated 100,000 yuan in support of education.

In his speech, Prof. Dong talked proudly of the exciting development of the domain of spatial structures in China in the past 6 decades and his fervent hope that China will attain international fame in this domain in the not-too-distant future. Because of his considerable passion for the career and his profound gratitude to the alma mater, he decided to make this donation to support the cultivation of outstanding elites in spatial structures.
