Imperial's Provost Visits Zhejiang University

Prof. Stirling, Provost of Imperial College London, led a delegation to visit Zhejiang University on April 19-20. Party Chief Jin Deshui, President Wu Zhaohui and Vice President Ying Yibin met with the delegation on different occasions.

The two universities carried out an in-depth discussion about future partnership and development. They reached a consensus that they should capitalize on two platforms—a collaborative center in London and Haining International Campus—and expand cooperation in different domains on the strength of current partnerships. Accordingly, the delegation communicated with deans of relevant colleges and departments in various fields, such as energy, big data, water treatment, environment and resources, electrical engineering and computer science. They agreed to set a clear aim on particular collaborative areas as soon as possible, formulate specific schemes and thus promote substantial cooperation.

During their trip, the delegation also visited laboratories in the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the State Key Laboratory of CAD & CG in the College of Computer Science and Technology, the Center of Electron Microscopy and ZJU History Gallery. Prof. Stirling was also invited to deliver a speech about the past, present and future of Imperial College London in Qizhen Global Vision Lecture Series.
