On July 16, Wu Zhaohui, President of Zhejiang University, met with Mr. David Leebron, President of Rice University, and his wife on Zijingang Campus.
Wu Zhaohui gave a brief introduction of ZJU’s strategic plan in the coming 5 years and the construction of its international campus. He highlighted that promoting partnership with world-class universities is one of the pivotal initiatives of ZJU. He expressed his sincere hope for deepening cooperation with Rice University in the field of quantum matter and suggested that 1 or 2 new fields be targeted for further cooperation. David Leebron also hoped that both parties will expand cooperation in the next decade. Later, the two presidents shared ideas with each other on expanding new cooperation fields and promoting student exchange programs.
Opened in 1912, Rice University is now a research university with an undergraduate focus.
