Ying Lan Wins 1st Prize in 3rd National Universities Teaching Contest

In the grand finale of the 3rd National Universities Teaching Contest held on August 28-31, Ying Lan from the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology won the first prize on behalf of Zhejiang  Province.

The 3rd National Universities Teaching Contest was organized by the National Committee of China’s Educational, Scientific, Cultural, Health and Athletic Organization and hosted by East  China Normal  University. A total of 93 university teachers aged under 30 years old across the country participated in the final. Ying Lan came in first in the Engineering Division of the Provincial Universities Teaching Contest and thus qualified for the final of the national competition on behalf of Zhejiang  Province. He is the first overseas teacher to make it through to the national final contest. Thanks to his exceptional teaching design, humorous language and bilingual delivery, he won universal applause from judges and experts and finished in third place in the Engineering Division.

Ying Lan is from Pakistan and became a faculty member of the College  of Agriculture and Biotechnology in 2012.
