
On February 28, Prof. Tian Mei from the School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, received the 11th China Female Scientist Awards due to her remarkable achievements.
The China Female Scientist Awards were co-established by the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF), the China Association for Science and Technology, the China National Commission for UNESCO and L’Oreal China in 2004 to recognize Chinese women scientists under the age of 45 who have made significant accomplishments in basic and life sciences. This annual event presents awards to a maximum of 10 winners each year.
Tian Mei is a professor of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, a Cheung Kong scholar, director of the Provincial Key Laboratory of Molecular Imaging and vice president of Binjiang Hospital of Zhejiang University. Her primary research interests include clinical and translational studies on positron emission tomography (PET), or PET-CT and in combination with MRI, clinical and translational studies on neuroimaging, general nuclear medicine diagnosis and treatment, in vivo stem cell or T cell trafficking using multimodality imaging (PET/CT/MRI/optical imaging). Her research renders generous support to the prevention, diagnosis and assessment of major diseases.
