At the 25th CEEMAN Annual Conference on September 21, Alenka Braček Lalić, International Quality Accreditation (IQA) Director at the Central and East European Management Development Association (CEEMAN), announced that the International Quality Accreditation was awarded to the School of Management, Zhejiang University, for its superb performance in key indicators. The School of Management has thus become the first one to acquire CEEMAN IQA in China.

So far, the School of Management has obtained 4 well-renowned international accreditations, including AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA and CEEMAN IQA, and the Chinese Advanced Management Education Accreditation.

CEEMAN is an international management development association established in 1993 with the aim of accelerating the growth in quality of management development in central and eastern Europe. Now it is a global network of management development institutions interested in quality of education and innovations in this field, as well as in the broad area of subjects related to change, with more than 225 members from over 54 countries in Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

CEEMAN IQA is based on the belief that while there may be considerable variation in statements of mission, vision, and values, and substantial differences in the management development needs in specific environments, there nevertheless exist certain globally recognized quality standards which every accredited institution should meet. The CEEMAN accreditation framework also takes into account market/customer relevance and social responsibility. In response to China’s “Belt & Road” Initiative, the School of Management became the first CEEMAN member from China in June, 2016.

Commissioned by the CEEMAN, the CEEMAN IQA panel, including Drikus Kriek, interim director of the CEEMAN and vice dean of IEDC-Bled School of Management, and Alenka Braček Lalić, director of the CEEMAN IQA, carried out a rigorous on-site evaluation of the School of Management on September 11. They assessed the School of Management in such key aspects as strategic planning, research, teaching, student service, alumni support, executive support and market relevance. Thanks to its excellence in these key criteria, it was awarded CEEMAN IQA.
