1st Provincial Contest on Intelligent Robotics Innovation held at ZJU

The 1st edition of Zhejiang Provincial Contest on Intelligent Robotics Innovation was held at Zhejiang University on December 6-8. A total of 283 teams from 39 universities across the province participated in the contest.

There were three categories in the contest: “Innovative Design: Intelligent Robots Make the Future More Colorful”, “Innovative Athletics: Rubik’s Cube Robots Challenge Human Extremes” and “Innovative Fighting: IRFC Intelligent Robot Fighting Contest—Fusion of Modern Science and Traditional Martial Arts”.

In the category of “Innovative Design: Intelligent Robots”, contestants showcased a variety of dazzling robots, such as the Tetris robot, the hair-washing robot, the rubbish-sorting robot, the gobang robot and the intelligent shoe cabinet.

In the category of “Innovative Athletics: Rubik’s Cube Robot”, the “two-clawed Rubik’s cube robot” designed by Zhejiang University far outperformed other competing robots and solved a Rubik’s cube in 13.991 seconds.

In the category of “Innovative Fighting: IRFC Intelligent Robot Fighting Contest”, the two teams from Zhejiang University made it to the final and bagged the champion and runner-up titles in humanoid robot fighting.
