On the morning of March 18, Zhejiang University welcomed a distinguished delegation led by Prinat Apirat, Consul General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai. Vice President ZHOU Jianghong extended a warm reception, marking yet another chapter in the university’s deepening ties with Thailand.

In his remarks, ZHOU Jianghong highlighted Zhejiang University’s distinctive academic strengths, recent developments, and cooperation with Thailand. With 2025 marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, he reaffirmed the university’s commitment to strengthening bilateral exchanges with Thai universities. From management and marine sciences to computer science, agriculture, and medicine, Zhejiang University aims to expand research cooperation and scholarly dialogue. He also emphasized the university’s plans to accelerate the establishment of the Zhejiang University Thailand Center, an initiative poised to cultivate an even closer partnership.
Consul General Prinat Apirat commended Zhejiang University for its instrumental role in fostering China-Thailand relations. She reflected on the enduring friendship between the two nations and underscored the importance of deeper educational cooperation. By working together on talent cultivation, research innovation, and sustainable development, she expressed hope that both countries would make meaningful contributions to economic progress and technological advancement.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Public Affairs, where they held friendly discussions on topics related to common prosperity.
