On April 23, Dr. Stephanie Riady, President of Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), led a delegation to visit Zhejiang University. Vice President ZHOU Jianghong welcomed the guests on the Zijingang Campus.

During the meeting, Vice President Zhou highlighted the University’s recent developments and its proactive efforts in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. Noting that this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, he emphasized the vast potential for bilateral cooperation. He expressed enthusiasm for expanding cooperation with UPH in fields such as computer science, law, and medicine, particularly at the intersection of disciplines, to jointly contribute to scientific and societal progress.
President Riady provided an overview of UPH and highlighted the transformative impact of science and technology on global society. She noted China’s rapid progress in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, calling it an important model for Indonesia. She expressed strong interest in launching faculty and student exchanges and educational cooperation with ZJU to foster talent development in Indonesia’s growing tech sector.

During the visit, the delegation toured ZJU’s Museum of Art and Archaeology and met with Indonesian students currently studying at the University.
Representatives from ZJU’s Office of Global Engagement, Graduate School, Guanghua Law School, College of Computer Science and Technology, College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science, and the First Affiliated Hospital of the Zhejiang University School of Medicine also joined the meeting.
