On June 26, MA Yanming, President of Zhejiang University welcomed Kim Tae-nyeon, President of the South Korea-China Parliamentarians' Union and a Member of the National Assembly of South Korea's Democratic Party, along with his delegation on Zijingang Campus. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on educational exchange, scientific collaboration, and cultural cooperation.

President MA extended a warm welcome to Kim and his delegation, highlighting Zhejiang University's longstanding commitment to international engagement, particularly with Korean universities. He noted that in recent years, ZJU has made significant strides in fostering institutional partnerships, cross-cultural dialogue, and the cultivation of international talent.
"With the Year of China-Japan-Korea Cultural Exchange 2025–2026 as a valuable opportunity," MA said, "we look forward to further deepening faculty and student exchanges, joint research initiatives, and collaborative projects in the humanities and the arts. Together, we can contribute to mutual understanding between civilizations and closer ties between our peoples."
Kim expressed appreciation for ZJU's hospitality and spoke highly of its academic excellence and reputation for innovation. "Zhejiang University is a leading institution not only in China but also in the broader region," he said. "Its role in advancing science, technology, and industry is widely recognized, and it is a top choice for many young Koreans."
He voiced hopes for stronger ties between ZJU and Korean institutions in both culture and science, and expressed support for encouraging more Korean students to study and thrive at ZJU.
During their visit, the delegation also toured the Museum of Art and Archaeology, where they viewed the special exhibition Blossoming in All Directions: Gandhāran Art and Asian Civilizations.

Also present at the meeting were CHEN Jiangfeng, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Zhejiang Province; representatives from the Chinese Embassy in South Korea; and officials from the Office of Global Engagement, the College of Information Science & Electronic Engineering, the College of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science, and the Institute of Asian Civilizations.
