On March 24, LI Xiaoming, Vice President of Zhejiang University (ZJU) welcomed a delegation led by Professor Rachel Mills, Senior Vice President (Academic) at King's College London (KCL). The meeting coincided with the 10th anniversary of the partnership between the two institutions, and focused on expanding academic mobility and deepening cross-disciplinary collaboration.

LI Xiaoming extended a warm welcome to Rachel Mills and her delegation, providing an overview of ZJU’s recent development and distinct academic characteristics. Reflecting on a decade of fruitful collaboration, particularly in medicine and pharmacy, LI emphasized the high value ZJU places on its strategic partnership with KCL. Looking ahead, he expressed a strong desire to enhance two-way faculty and student mobility, deepen cooperation in fields such as medicine, pharmacy, and Chinese studies, and explore new opportunities for joint training programs and collaborative platforms, particularly in innovation and entrepreneurship.
Rachel Mills spoke highly of the collaborative achievements and the immense potential of the ZJU-KCL partnership. She shared insights into KCL’s Strategy 2030, highlighting the university’s commitment to integrating academic excellence with innovation and entrepreneurship to better serve society. Echoing LI's sentiments, Rachel Mills expressed her anticipation for continued and deepened exchanges in teaching, research, and innovation. She also warmly invited a ZJU delegation to visit KCL in the near future to further advance these collaborative initiatives.

During the meeting, representatives from ZJU’s School of Medicine, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and International Campus engaged in in-depth discussions with their KCL counterparts from the faculties and institutes of medicine, STEM, neuroscience, and Chinese studies. The dialogue focused on identifying concrete directions for the next phase of cross-disciplinary collaboration.

To gain a comprehensive understanding of ZJU’s innovation and technology transfer ecosystem, the KCL delegation also toured the ZJU National University Science Park and the Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center during their visit.
