With concerted efforts of various departments, the undergraduate online course platform has been eventually put in pilot operation. On the afternoon of January 15, 50-plus teachers and students witnessed this crucial moment when the new course platform went online and savored its immense charm.
The online course platform plays a vital role in learning. To cater to the demands of teachers and students alike, Zhejiang University creates a brand new online course platform geared towards educational needs in the context of “Internet Plus” and “maker education”, thus ensuring the transformation of teaching modes, the improvement of teaching methods and the promotion of teaching qualities. Teachers and students can immerse themselves in an ocean of fun from online education.
The online course platform is based on the Blackboard Learn learning management system. It covers every phase in teaching and learning and embodies a full spectrum of functions, such as course designing, resource pooling, interaction, statistics, evaluation, learning communities, learning space and mobile learning, thereby providing one-stop teaching and learning services. It supports a total of 18 languages, including Chinese, English, German, Japanese, etc.. In their own e-space, students will carry out autonomous learning while teachers will provide customized teaching, which will lend tremendous support to hybrid teaching and mobile learning.
