Experience Pluralistic Culture in Hawaii and Promote Indigenous Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education

    On August 7, 13 undergraduates and postgraduates from the College of Education, Zhejiang University, embarked on their journey in the 2017 American Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summer Camp. This summer camp is focused on learning and school environment, sports management and athletic rehabilitation, oceans and sustainable development, and cultural innovation and heritage protection.

    Donald B. Young, Dean of the College of Education and Professor of Science Education at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa (UH Mānoa) extended his cordial welcome in the opening ceremony and hoped that the two universities would carry out deeper communication and research partnership in the future.

    Prof. Zhou Guping, Vice Party Chief of Zhejiang University, headed this summer camp. “Globalization is not only a crucial bridge connecting Zhejiang University with overseas universities and international academic communities, but also an essential avenue of creating a world-class university. Zhejiang University will continue to cement ties with world-famous universities, including UH Mānoa, and make unswerving efforts to promote knowledge production and propel social progress,” said Zhou.

    In the opening ceremony, Ron Cambra, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Education, and Andy Sutton, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International & Exchange Programs, also extended their warm welcome to ZJU students and introduced to them the makeup of the University of Hawaii as well as the history, subjects, distinctive domains, international cooperation and exchanges, campus culture of UH Mānoa. Zhou Guping exchanged ideas with Prof. Ron Cambra and Prof. Andy Sutton in regard to how to further promote and strengthen comprehensive cooperation and partnership between the two universities.
