Construction of Core Area of Zijin Innovation & Enterpreneurship Hub Kicks off

        On September 27, Xihu District, Hangzhou City, announced the official opening for construction of the core area of Zijin Innovation & Enterpreneurship Hub (ZIEH), one of the major industrial promotion projects. The investment of the project is projected to add up to 2.3 billion yuan. ZIEH will aim at exploring a new approach to university-government cooperation in an effort to seek new paths in terms of breaking the bottleneck of resources, optimizing policy, amassing high-caliber elements and building innovation ecosystem.

    “Zhejiang University places much weight on the construction of ZIEH in response to China’s need for entrepreneurship and innovation. We will make every endeavor to build Zijin Start-up Town into a world-class engine of innovation, facilitate industrial upgrading, promote technological translation and remain to be at the cutting-edge of social development. We will play a leading role in the construction of the Sci-tech Innovation Corridor in the west of Hangzhou City,” YAN Jianhua, Vice President of Zhejiang University, said.

    “ZIEH is a milestone project jointly built by Xihu District and Zhejiang University. Xihu District will join the hand with Zhejiang University to boost industrial levels, promote industrial agglomeration, nurture a structurally sound and technologically advanced industrial system marked by security, efficiency, high values added and superb competitiveness,” ZHANG Genming, Secretary of the CPC Xihu District Committee, said.
