On the afternoon of August 27 (UTC-3), the College of Education, Zhejiang University, is proud to become part of the World Leisure Center of Excellence (WLCE) after the Vancouver Island University, NHTV Breda University and the University of Otago.
Founded in 1952, the World Leisure Organization (WLO) is a world-wide, non-governmental association dedicated to discovering and fostering the leisure experience as a force for human development and well-being.
WLCE is an international graduate/post-graduate program which offers opportunities for colleges and universities to affiliate with WLO to establish and provide graduate educational programs and research centers focused on play, recreation, the arts, culture, sport, festivals and celebrations, health and fitness, travel and tourism with an international dimension. It gives students, educators, researchers and professionals the chance to participate and contribute to uniquely theme-focused educational endeavors.
Prof. ZHOU Lijun, vice dean of the College of Education, expresses her heartfelt gratitude for the generous support of WLO and looks forward to more access to a global network of leisure researchers and educators.
