The rowing team of Zhejiang University Aquatic Sport Club participated in the second edition of the Dresden Rowing Cup in Germany on August 16. This internationally prestigious rowing competition brought together 9 teams from Germany, Russia, the Netherlands, the UK and China.
The Dresden Rowing Cup consists of the erg race and the 6-km rowing marathon. All crew members from Zhejiang University were amateur undergraduates. Before the competition, they underwent rigorous training for nearly two months.
Unfortunately, they didn’t do a good job in the 500-metre head-to-head team erg sprint, which placed them at a disadvantage in the 6-km rowing marathon. In the end, the team completed the race in 9th place.
Although the ZJU team failed to live up to their expectations, the organizer poured much praise on their performance and looked forward to their participation in the coming year.
