The Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations was held in Beijing on May 15. President XI Jinping delivered a keynote speech entitled “Creates a new platform for civilizations in Asia and beyond to engage in dialogue and exchanges on an equal footing to facilitate mutual learning ” at the opening ceremony.
Prof. ZHOU Guping, Director of the Center for Research Regional Coordination Development and Dean of China Academy of West Region Development, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech entitled “The Role of Universities in Promoting Asian Civilizations and People-to-people Bonds” on the forum of “Asian Civilizations and Contemporary Asian Development”.

“Universities play an irreplaceable role in promoting people-to-people bonds. Their salient assets are not only instrumental to the universality of people-to-people bonds but also beneficial to theoretical and practical innovation in this regard. Building people-to-people bonds are a systematic project, and universities should work out a better strategy for civilized exchanges, smart applications, discourse construction and platform building, thus making great contributions to elevating people-to-people bonds to a higher level,” said ZHOU Guping in her speech.
