A legendary night for two ZJUers

The 2019 World Aquatic Championships and the IAAF Diamond League kicked off on the evening of July 21. Two ZJUers—SUN Yang and XIE Zhenye—dazzled the whole world with their stellar performance.

XIE Zhenye, who started to pursue his master’s degree in athletic training at Zhejiang University in 2016, broke the Asian men’s 200 meters record by clocking 19.88 seconds, becoming the first Asian to finish the race within 20 seconds.

SUN Yang, the 2014 Class of athletic training at Zhejiang University, claimed a record fourth straight 400-meter freestyle title, touching home in a time of 3:42.44.
