On the afternoon of June 18, President WU Zhaohui met with Prof. Shahbaz Khan, director of the UNESCO Cluster Office in Beijing.

President WU Zhaohui extended his cordial welcome to Prof. Shahbaz Khan and gave a brief introduction to the development and strengths of the University as well as the University’s Sustainability Action Plan: A Global ZJU for Social Good. “Zhejiang University has been working in partnership with UNESCO for long. We attach great importance to our cooperation and we hope to work together with UNESCO to fulfill the goal of the UN sustainable development,” he pointed out.
Prof. Shahbaz Khan spoke highly of the achievements of cooperation between Zhejiang University and UNESCO and accorded full recognition to Zhejiang University for its positive contributions to promoting sustainable development. He hoped that the UNESCO Chair in Entrepreneurship Education, established at Zhejiang University, would disseminate valuable experience and up-to-date knowledge to more countries. He also looked forward to more in-depth cooperation in more domains in the future.
The connection between the University and UNESCO can be traced back to 1946, when President Chu Kochen and Prof. WANG Chengxu from the College of Education attended the first UNESCO General Conference in Paris as a member and secretary of the Chinese government delegation. The UNESCO Chair in Entrepreneurship Education and the UNESCO China Entrepreneurship Education Alliance are headquartered at Zhejiang University.
