REN Shaobo meets with Chair of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture, Science, and Sports in Mongolia

On the morning of September 14, REN Shaobo, Chairman of the Zhejiang University Council, met with Chinbat Undram, Chair of the Standing Committee on Education, Culture, Science, and Sports of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, and her delegation.

REN Shaobo extended a warm and gracious welcome to Undram and her delegation. He introduced Zhejiang University’s innovative educational framework, strategies for global engagement, and recent advancements in disciplines such as agriculture, computer science, and medicine. REN invited Mongolian scholars and students to collaborate with Zhejiang University in academic exchanges and research work. Under the auspices of the Global Development Initiative, he highlighted areas of mutual interest, such as agriculture and food, climate and environment, and smart healthcare. REN voiced his hope that this collaboration would not only enhance academic ties but also contribute immensely to the realization of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Undram expressed her heartfelt gratitude for Zhejiang University’s warm hospitality and lauded its remarkable feats in education and scientific research. She noted the university’s global reputation for excellence and expressed her hope for deeper academic and cultural exchanges between Zhejiang University and Mongolian universities. Undram stressed the potential for collaboration in key fields such as agriculture, mining, artificial intelligence, information technology, and rehabilitation medicine. She emphasized the importance of fostering connections to drive technological development that would ultimately benefit the people of both nations.
