Politecnico di Milano delegation visits Zhejiang University to strengthen academic ties

On the morning of June 6, a delegation from the Politecnico di Milano, led by Daniele Rocchi, Vice Rector and Dean of the PhD School, visited Zhejiang University. Vice President ZHOU Jianghong met with the guests on behalf of the university.

During the meeting, ZHOU Jianghong extended a warm welcome to Daniele Rocchi. He introduced ZJU’s latest developments in discipline development, scientific innovation, international cooperation, and sustainable development. He spoke highly of the longstanding collaboration between the two universities, noting that the Politecnico di Milano is one of Zhejiang University’s most valued global partners. Looking ahead, he expressed the hope that the two institutions would further deepen practical cooperation in talent cultivation, joint research, and technology transfer, thereby contributing the strength of higher education to the sound and stable development of China–Italy relations.

Daniele Rocchi expressed his admiration for ZJU’s achievements and shared updates on the Politecnico di Milano’s efforts in postgraduate education, technology transfer, and innovation and entrepreneurship. He emphasized the crucial role of international collaboration in driving innovation and voiced his keen interest in working with ZJU to implement joint master’s and PhD programs, foster research collaboration across various fields, and set a benchmark for China-Italy cooperation in higher education.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Student Innovation and Practice Base for Robotics and Intelligent Equipment and the ZJU-Hangzhou Global Scientific and Technological Innovation Center. Representatives from the Institute of Technology Transfer, the Graduate School, and the Office of Global Engagement also attended the meeting.
