On June 27, a delegation led by Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut, leader of Thailand’s People's Party, visited Zhejiang University, where they were warmly received by Vice President ZHOU Jianghong.

During the meeting, ZHOU highlighted ZJU’s comprehensive academic strengths and its longstanding commitment to international collaboration. He noted that the university has forged productive partnerships with Thai institutions in diverse fields such as management, marine science, computer science, agriculture, and medicine.
“This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand,” ZHOU said. “We look forward to building a closer network with Thailand and the broader Southeast Asian region, advancing joint research, and attracting more talented Thai students to pursue their studies at Zhejiang University.”
Natthaphong praised ZJU for its vital role in advancing China’s scientific, technological, and socioeconomic development in the 21st century. “Zhejiang University stands as a symbol of excellence in higher education,” he said. “China and Thailand share a long history of cooperation, and this visit is an opportunity to learn from China’s successful model of innovation where universities, government, and enterprises work together to drive technological transformation.”
Natthaphong expressed particular interest in ZJU’s achievements in engineering and its efforts to cultivate a vibrant international learning environment. Looking ahead, he hoped to foster more exchange opportunities that will strengthen the bonds between the two nations and promote mutual development.
The delegation also toured the Science and Technology Innovation Center, where they were introduced to ZJU’s latest accomplishments in technology transfer, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The visit offered a comprehensive view of the university’s dynamic ecosystem for research-driven innovation.
