Queen Mary Hospital nursing delegation visits FAHZU to advance professional collaboration

On August 15, 2026, a nine-member nursing delegation from Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong visited the First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine (FAHZU) for a day of professional exchange. The program focused on nursing discipline development, talent cultivation, quality and safety, digital transformation, and specialty nursing.

FAHZU President LIANG Tingbo welcomed the delegation and highlighted the essential role of nursing in advancing high-quality hospital development, patient safety, and the overall care experience. Representatives from Queen Mary Hospital and FAHZU subsequently shared their respective nursing management, specialty strengths, workforce development, and clinical practices.

During the thematic sessions, FAHZU nursing leaders presented the hospital’s approaches to nursing education and talent development, quality and safety management, and digital innovation. The two sides exchanged perspectives on nursing-sensitive indicators, evidence-based practice, specialty nurse training, and the translation of innovation into clinical care.

The delegation also visited FAHZU’s geriatric ward, outpatient clinic, intensive care unit, smart logistics system, cultural corridor, and hematology ward. These visits offered a closer look at how FAHZU integrates specialized care, standardized management, digital technologies, and human-centered services. The program concluded with focused group discussions on wound and stoma care, colorectal and critical care nursing, integrated geriatric care, palliative care, and hematology nursing.

Building on previous professional exchanges between the two institutions, the visit marked a further step toward broader discipline-level collaboration. Moving beyond individual staff exchanges, the two nursing teams explored opportunities for continued cooperation in specialty development, workforce education, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.

Looking ahead, FAHZU Nursing will continue to strengthen professional exchange and collaborative learning. By bringing together clinical expertise, talent development, digital transformation, evidence-based practice, and research innovation, FAHZU aims to advance high-quality nursing care and contribute to the continued development of the nursing discipline.
